【2021-12-02】On December 2nd, 2021, Professor Yongjun Dang from ChongQing Medical University (CQMU) was invited to bring a seminar entitled “Target Discovery and Validation Based on multidiscipline”. Faculties and students attended the seminar that was held by professor Yizhou Li.
Professor Yongjun Dang is mainly engaged in the discovery and confirmation of novel disease-related targets and small molecules and translational medicine research. A system of molecular target identification and small molecule screening related to disease was established. After returning to China in 2012, he has published more than 50 publications like Nature, Blood, Nucleic Acids Research, Cell Chemical Biology and Nature Communication.
In this presentation, Prof. Yongjun Dang introduced integrated strategies for new target discovery and identification, combined with clinical medicine, molecular biology, structural biology, pharmacology, chemical biology and medicinal chemistry to expand the space for new targets of disease, and the use of molecular probes to uncover new biological mechanisms. At the same time, he summarized his team's work in the past five years and introduced a research model of “active natural product-target-new active molecules”.
We are appreciated for Professor Yongjun Dang’s terrific seminar!
